It's hard to know where to start.

On Friday, February 14 (yes, Valentines Day), it will be one year since I first visited this property with my realtor Heather.

The week prior I had reached out to her to look at a property in Shaftsbury, VT that had ended up in my Instagram feed that I was interested in. She told me I had to jump on it because it had just gone back on the market, so I put my phone down and immediately booked a ticket into Albany, NY. The ticket was an outrageous amount of money, but I was determined to make this dream a reality, and after the place outside of Saratoga Springs turned out to be a bust, I was starting to feel desperate. Friends were questioning if I was self sabotaging, my husband was losing hope and asking if it was ever going to happen, and although I was certain that the right place would present itself, I was starting to spiral.

Once the ticket was booked, I went to text Heather, and saw a text from her telling me to wait, that she didn't think I'd be able to do what I wanted to with that property. I was devastated, and I was going to be out over a grand for the ticket that I wasn't going to be able to get my money back for, because I didn't pay for the insurance. She told me to come out anyway, and at that point I didn't have much to lose.

Soon she mentioned that another realtor in her office had a property that she thought would be a good fit for my plans, little did I know that this property would have different (but possibly better) potential than what I had been looking for all along.
